OK, so we all know we ought to have great footers, and we all experience the frustration of looking at the bottom of someone else’s email for phone / fax / contact details. But so few of us actually get around to setting our own up. “Sigh!” The mechanics of it vary from email system to system, but they will ALL let you do something. So just do it!
Do not plan on unique fonts and fancy graphics. The recipients server will ‘play with’ your fonts and may well refuse to display your graphics. How it looks when it leaves you is no guarantee of how it will look when it arrives. So the simpler you plan – standard fonts and line breaks – the more consistent it is likely to look by the recipient.
Just figure out who you are, what your contact details are and whether you want to add a message or tag line. “Done!”
